Some trailers take forever to drop. The first clip for “Spider-Man: Far From Home” was expected more than a month before it finally materialized online. Others, like the surprise spot for the new “Ghostbusters,” seemingly appear out of nowhere.

The initial teaser for the director Jason Reitman’s sequel to his father Ivan’s ’80s comedies doesn’t reveal much, aside from the spirit-hunting team’s Ecto-1 transport, which has been gathering dust in a barn. All we know is the movie won’t feature the characters from the female-centric 2016 reboot. No word on whether any original stars will return, but Dan Aykroyd did tweet to Reitman, “If you need a tune-up, you know who to call.”

Peter Parker (Tom Holland) leaves Queens to take a school trip to England, but he can’t escape his Spidey responsibilities after he gets a surprise visit from Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson), who recruits him to join the previously unseen superhero Mysterio (Jake Gyllenhaal) and fight creatures wreaking destruction across Europe. Set to the Ramones’ “I Wanna Be Sedated,” this zippy trailer has the opposite effect.

The third installment of Keanu Reeves’s ultraviolent action franchise looks likely to erase any memories of his recent flop, “Replicas.” As his John Wick is expelled from the assassins’ union known as the High Table, Reeves is joined by a pair of Oscar-winning actresses, Anjelica Huston and Halle Berry. A seemingly ill-suited tune, Andy Williams’s version of “The Impossible Dream (The Quest),” gives the trailer a kitschy kick.
